The CIGoGreen Map promotes education, tourism, and activism - and it supports economic development in local communities:
- It highlights the location of green buildings, historic and modern installations of renewable energy systems, and noteworthy project proposals and possibilities.
- It features locations where you can go green by visiting farmers’ markets, recycling, choosing car-free travel, and purchasing clean fuels.
- It includes indicators of progress in individual communities - the number of hybrid vehicle registrations, residential photovoltaic system installations, and green power consumers - and it identifies those forward-thinking towns that have adopted climate policies.
- It lists businesses, organizations, and resources to help you go green.

Interactive maps are under development - they will feature links to prominent green sites and installations in the Cape & Islands region, links to local organizations and businesses that can help you go green, and data reflecting progress toward energy sustainability.
