Initial 5-Step Energy Action Plans for Cape & Islands energy stakeholders residents, visitors, businesses and organizations, students and schools, officials and agencies, and communities were released in January 2008 to jumpstart collective and concerted action toward ambitious goals for the year 2020. A report providing detailed background on these qualitative plans is available here.
In November 2007, participants in the Cape & Islands Renewable Energy Collaborative (CIRenew) conducted the kickoff workshop for a project, “Renewable Generation & Electrification: Technology Strategy for the Carbon-Constrained Future,” recently funded by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). The project supports development of quantitative action plans by engaging stakeholders in helping chart the path forward for the Cape & Islands region across the energy technology spectrum and toward 2020 goals.
